Abstract: In this panel presentation, different perspectives are offered on the use of technologies to develop contemporary literacies across disciplines. Three panelists will present their experiences integrating contemporary technologies into teacher preparation and, through data from qualitative research studies, reveal how teacher candidates in those classes do (or do not) become teachers who integrate technologies into their instruction. Following the panelists’ discussion, the audience will be invited to take part in a discussion on the challenges facing graduates of technology-rich teacher education programs as they attempt to become teachers who effectively integrate technologies into their teaching.
