Twitter in Learning Theories
Abstract: Social networks are being used by many students. They increase communication opportunities among students. Students use them quite actively, so social networks somewhat contribute to instructional purposes. The use of social networks and particularly that of Twitter could be explained through several learning theories. Some constructive and socio-cognitive perspectives are directly related whereas some theories are indirectly related to social network use. The current study discusses the use of social networks with a focus on the discussion of relevant learning theories.
