Share Paper: Game Development Class in 6 Weeks

Abstract: This paper discusses a game development class held in a very successful summer science and engineering program called PREP. Each of 41 students designed and developed a computer game over a 6 week period, working around 2-3 hours a day for 4 days a week. The curriculum consists of playing, evaluating, designing, and developing a computer game. Students developed their games in a tool called Game Maker.
