Abstract: Students in the National History Day program participate in a significant amount of research and share their findings in a variety of ways. The documentary or digital video category has become one of the most popular ways for the participants to share their findings. The author conducted a qualitative study to gain insights into their experiences using digital video at the National History Day event at the University of Maryland. This paper shares some of the findings. In particular, how the students are using the technology as a Mindtool. Quotes from the participants are included.
