Abstract: Using digital learning technologies to support teachers and learners are endless (Borko, Whitcomb and Liston, 2009). Teacher education programs continue to promote the understanding of new technologies (Albion, 2008) but developing high levels of competency in students has been difficult. Smarkola (2007) believes students need to learn in the contexts in which they will teach. Another issue is that students in Canadian teacher preparation programs are unlikely to have an opportunity to work with English as an Additional Language students. This paper examines the experiences of pre-service teachers application of technology in a high school setting and to learn about English as an Additional Language.
