Developing a Game-based Learning Environment in Classrooms: A Conceptual Model

Abstract: This study presents a conceptual model for developing a game-based learning environment. This model adopts a role-playing strategy in a digital gaming environment by considering the educational theory of TPCK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) that integrates pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, and technological knowledge. The model includes three different modules: (1) input module, (2) developmental process module, and (3) evaluation module from the perspective of input-process-output.
