Leaving our Silos: Collaborative Design of an Introductory Technology Course

Abstract: This paper describes a collaborative design of a required Technology for Teachers course in which the approach to development and implementation by the collaborative team mirrored the tenets of the COE's conceptual framework. These included reflection, collaboration, technology, assessment, and professionalism. The course used, as a foundational tool, an electronic portfolio system which both gathered assessment data for the COE and provided an archival and assessment portfolio for its candidates.
