Abstract: Screencasting is rapidly becoming a popular method of presenting content for instruction. Educators are finding the software used to produce screencasts easier to use and there is evidence in the literature that a wide variety of disciplines find screencasting a useful tool. Methods of production are explained. Screencasting software is compared. Preliminary findings in instructional effectiveness are presented.
