Web Accessibility: Issues And Implications For Education

Abstract: A Roundtable presentation is proposed to encourage discussion about awareness of Web Accessibility. Web accessibility is the degree to which a Web page can be accessed by all users, including students with disabilities. Raising awareness of Web accessibility will contribute to more accessible Web design. Suggested topics for Roundtable discussion include best practices in designing for Web accessibility, priorities to be considered in designing for Web accessibility; feasibility of Web accessibility efforts; difficulties encountered in designing for Web accessibility; and efforts to raise awareness of Web accessibility. The presentation and discussion will contribute to raising awareness of Web accessibility and the implications for education.
