Abstract: Internet communication can put “language students in contact with real audiences, providing them with authentic language experiences and immediate feedback from native speakers” (Silva, Meagher, & Velenzuela, 1996, p. 10). In recent years there has been an attempt to employ communication via the Internet to help students enhance their English language proficiency (Fang, 1996).
