Abstract: The discussion will reflect the culmination of a project that included the development of an 'archival database portfolio.' It will outline our development process, and detail key issues encountered while creating a system to communicate pre-service teachers' understandings and competencies while meeting specific performance standards and principles. The discussion will demonstrate that, when properly configured, archival database portfolios represent a more secure and a less vulnerable data collection and sharing process for pre-service teachers and teacher educators.
