Abstract: This study investigated the use of Learner ProfileĀ®, a handheld assessment technology in a technology-rich classroom. Two teacher researchers piloted the use of the technology while teaching a 6-week unit. Analysis of journal entries, transcribed conversations between the teachers and a colleague, and assessment artifacts revealed four themes. These included: 1) Changing Assessment Habits, 2) Improvement Over Paper and Pen Assessment Methods, 3) Logistic Issues Regarding the Use of Learner Profile and 4) Rethinking Assessment Perspectives.
