Abstract: The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education advocates a technologically proficient teaching force.Traditionally preservice elementary teachers resist using technology, even suggesting it is developmentally inappropriate.To remedy this an Elementary Education Methods Class for Mathematics, Science and Technology required the use of technology for learning course content, but did not require it in field experiences with children. This was done in an effort to improve technological skills and attitudes of preservice teachers before use with children.
