Abstract: Providing preservice teachers the opportunity to develop technology skills and to integrate technology within their PK-12 teaching is key to meeting accrediting body standards. In order for this to occur, faculty need to model the infusion of technology throughout their courses, as preservice teachers are more likely to use technology during teaching if they have had opportunities to develop skills and have had successful role models. This need for technology modeling by faculty dictated the need for changes in the way in which faculty teach. Hence, ISU applied for and was awarded a PT3 grant in order to infuse technology into the teacher education curricula. Through ISU’s PT3 grant, a mini-grant award process for faculty was established. The mini-grants provide faculty the opportunity to develop a technology-rich learning environment for preservice teachers. During this presentation, we will discuss our mini-grant process and projects and describe what we have learned.
