Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic exposed issues related to online and blended learning in K-12 schools. In this paper, the authors focus on recommendations to prepare pre-service and in-service teachers for the reality that online and blended learning will likely be more common moving forward due to various world events that make in-person school attendance impossible for many or all students. The recommendations provided were selected from existing literature resulting from COVID-19 pandemic. This guidance is particularly important given the deficiencies in exposure to online and blended learning that have been documented in teacher education programs prior to and during the pandemic.
