Abstract: Web conferencing tools and learning management systems are two tools used most when educators think about remote learning. Using a combination of both these tools has become a standard for most institutions. Virtual reality allows instructors and students to learn in a computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way. Many technology leaders have recognized virtual reality as the next phase of communication and education. We explore how we can better engage students using virtual reality while at a distance.
