Abstract: Higher Education faculty across the country have been talking about the “great disengagement” they have experienced since the pandemic hit the country and the world. Regardless of how faculty and administrators describe the situation, they all seem to agree that the past few years, specially the 2021-2022academic year has been the most difficult time in academia because the teaching and learning enterprise has been compromised. What have we learned about student disengagement? What caused it? Most importantly, what are we going to do about it? Attend this presentation to review qualitative data from faculty focus groups on student disengagement, and to discuss possible solutions moving forward.
