How to design for student to student engagement online

Abstract: Teacher are currently stuck with a rudimentary understanding of how to teach online with the impending context of further environmental, social or economic disruptions to classroom based teaching and learning. This presentation explores the key to enabling effective teaching online, that is, how to support teachers to engineer student to student engagement. A theoretical model is presented which provides a guiding framework illustrated through 15 professional development videos that can be used by teachers to build deeper conceptual understanding of how to teach effectively online.
