Instructional Coaching in the New Normal
Abstract: Instructional coaching is important to provide assistance to teachers to improve teaching and learning practice. Knight (2007) identified five activities that will help improve teaching and learning process by providing a proper and correct way of instructional coaching to teacher. These activities are modelling, collaboration, providing support, observation and feedback. Before pandemic, instructional coaches or education leaders who have direct supervision to teachers towards improvement of instruction is made possible through different strategies that are implemented online. However, pandemic has brought a lot of effects and challenges to educators. One of these challenges is how to provide technical assistance to teachers in order to improve their work. How can we encourage collaboration effectively in a remote setting? How can we provide support in a distance learning and even face to face?
