Abstract: This is a proposal to structure the work of a research seedbed on Autonomous Intelligent Systems based on the integration of the Significant Learning model with project-based STEM education. Significant Learning model is adapted to generate skills in the seedbed students while they develop an intelligent vehicle with artificial vision and autonomous movement capabilities. The articulation of the two models has made it possible to stimulate individual and teamwork of the students who participate in the research seedbed, maintaining their motivation and level of commitment to the group and to the project itself. At the faculty level, this proposal will allow a better focus on the human, logistical and financial resources destined for the research seedbeds and also expect, in the medium term, a positive impact on academic indicators such as publications, registered technological artifacts and participation in academic events.
