Abstract: This Best Practices/Demo Teaching session will focus on using a Learning Management System (LMS) to create game-based courses. Participants will experience three different game-based courses created in an LMS from the student perspective and from the designer perspective. One course uses the LMS as a framework for several mini-simulations; another uses the LMS for content delivery via a story-based game where the Non-Playable Characters (NPCs) represent different ideologies; and the third embeds quests that students must complete before moving on to the next quest. The session will conclude with an opportunity to brainstorm and share ideas.
