Abstract: It is with no doubt that the effectiveness of Online education has been questioned more than before due to the pressured shift in education to fully remote learning during the pandemic. Many challenges have been faced by teachers and instructors due to the gap in face-to-face interaction with students. The proposed presentation is intended to provide a framework of strategies that can be adopted and established in online learning to overcome these communication hurdles and learning challenges in virtual classes, while mainly focusing on adopting an interdisciplinary approach in communication as well as teaching. It will demonstrate how an interdisciplinary approach in learning modules has been adopted for a bachelor’s capstone course to enhance student engagement, increase retention, better prepare students for their next career steps and most importantly provide an inclusive environment for a diverse pool of students.
