Abstract: With the rapid growth in the use of smartphones and other touch-screen devices, major traditional input methods such as the keyboard input method and the mouse input method have recently become increasingly supplemented by the flick input method, other touch-panel-operated methods and the speech input method. Developers of these newer devices, along with researchers in ICT education and in various other related fields, are finding it more needful than ever to have access to accurate collections of objective, concrete data describing exactly how this predominantly younger generation actually inputs information into their electronic devices.
