Abstract: In Computer Networks courses, it is always preferred to have several connected computers with packet analyzers installed to illustrate the intricacy in networks and protocols. However, the underlying mechanics of how packets are forwarded to intranet sites and how they are routed over internet are usually discussed theoretically without visual presentations or hands-on practice because: 1) it is not possible to observe how packets are transferred in external networks; and 2) it is not always possible for every school to maintain the necessary equipment and allow students to change the hardware settings.
