Abstract: Title IX training is required for any college receiving federal funding in the US. Traditionally the Title IX Coordinator is tasked to develop and administer the training without assistance from an instructional designer and is performed in a face-to-face traditional environment. Our school designed an online Title IX training that harnessed the analytical tools of a Learning Management System (LMS) to better report on the training’s completion and student success. The training implemented best practices in instructional design including the use of gamification and adaptive learning. Preliminary results were successful with the training until COVID19 delayed the large-scale implementation of the training. While this incident reduced data confirming the training’s success over its traditional implantation, it did reveal how colleges adopting online versions of the training better prepare for natural disasters and better serve non-traditional students who require flexibility in content delivery.
