Abstract: This interactive workshop will focus on inspiring student learning through use of audio podcasts. In this session, participants will investigate assignments in which students are asked to produce audio podcasts. They will discuss strategies for developing lesson content and selecting appropriate resources that will inspire students to engage with the lesson content. An authentic lesson that is used in a freshman level general education history class will be explored, student produced podcasts from this specific assignment will be examined, and the process of creating this assignment will be discussed. They will hear about actual class experiences in which students unexpectedly found their voices through the power of producing audio podcasts. Participants will learn to create audio podcasts using GarageBand on the iPad and on a Mac computer to ensure they can demonstrate these skills to their students. Bring your iPad and your Mac and join the fun.
