Abstract: Game-based learning has shown to increase enjoyment, motivate, engage, and encourage learners to spend more time learning. The challenge is to determine how it influences the cognitive processing necessary to develop knowledge. The current body of research offers little empirical data on how game-based learning influences cognitive functions like working memory transfer.
