Abstract: The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and computing have ushered us to the brink of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The continued development of digital technologies is transforming the way we interact with knowledge and information, and communication. While the future may be unknown, and arguably unknowable, these challenges present an opportunity to explore the need of a futures studies approach to educational systems to prepare the next generation of educators to meet the new and yet to be identified workforce demands of the future
