Abstract: Universities are very aware of the attention paid to global education. This pushes them towards a comprehensive education model incorporating global goals for learning. At the same time, global educative goals are increasingly handled at the local level, e.g., in Unesco’s concept of ‘learning cities’ which addresses the “crucial role that cities and local communities can play in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” This is an attempt to compensate for the less than expected success rate of an approach mainly focusing on policy at the largest possible scale.
