Financial Literacy and the Digital Divide

Abstract: In many areas around the world, there is a growing gap between the upper and lower socioeconomic classes. This study will examine two factors that are thought to be contributors to this trend. The two factors that will be examined are financial literacy and the digital divide. The author plans to reach out to 500 individuals within various socioeconomic classes in the United States. The author will focus on determining if there is a difference in both financial literacy and access to technology within the United States, based on socioeconomic status and will also look for a correlation between the two factors. When analyzing the information provided by respondents in this correlation study, the author expects to find that there are large differences in the amount of financial literacy and access to technology across various socioeconomic classes.
