Abstract: Educators are always on the search to find ways to make students’ learning effective. Technology for decades continues to support the short term positive outcomes of its use to enhance the education setting. Introducing social media into the academic setting may be the new medicine needed to restart student engines and promote new learning challenges. The study investigated 50 students’ awareness of what the social media does in a learning environment, and social media may be implemented into the education scene. Social media was found to engage students in the learning process. Implications and recommendations for teachers were made.
