Abstract: The emergence of new technologies and the world´s globalization, make it necessary to review how future engineers are being trained in Mexico. In an attempt to respond to the need to train human talent in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the National Association of Education and Information Tech-nology Institutions (ANIEI) proposes a reference framework which includes the minimum competencies that graduates from the Information Security, Internet of Things and Data Science new programs should have mastered when completing such program. This article presents the result of the work of more than 100 Mexican specialists who jointly propose three new professional profiles with their minimum competencies. The development of this proposal was coordinated by ANIEI and the Consejo Nacional de Acreditación de Informática y Computación (CONAIC), due to the interest that both institutions have in having study programs in ICT that can satisfy the needs of society, both national and internationally and also having the means to be able to evaluate the quality of the educational programs in ICT areas.
