Abstract: Being able to understand “open pedagogy” and employ the open educational resources and open source resources is one of the competencies that all stakeholders involved should have in educational contexts, in terms of teacher preparation and professional development. As such, educators and researchers need to know how “open pedagogy” is defined, how to make educational resources “open,” how to integrate “open” into educational practice, and how to prepare both teachers and learners with “open” competencies. This paper explores current literature to answer to these questions. Meanwhile, this research discusses challenges including quality assurance, and gives future suggestions.
