Abstract: Over the last several years, Rutgers Arts Online has become concerned with protecting the credentials earned by students in online courses. The verification of these credentials is critical to the integrity of both the student and the institution offering online courses. One problematic area is plagiarism. To that end, Rutgers Arts Online is taking advantage of Turnitin’s settings and beginning to use the software as a plagiarism self-check tool. The tool was developed for a two-fold purpose.
