Share Paper: Distance Education in Russian Universities: Problems and Solutions

Abstract: This case study is built upon the personal observations of the author and relevant literature sources. The author studied the state of distance education as Fulbright specialist in one of the Federal universities in Russia in 2018. The major barriers to the development of distance education in Russian higher education are named: lack of support on the part of the faculty, insufficient incentives, absence of the uniform standards and others. Solutions are offered.
