Abstract: In this cloud era, the discussion is about what to choose and how. This paper attempts to collect technology leaders’ perspectives about integrating the CC into higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia. A literature review of previous studies on experiences in transitioning toward and adopting CC systems in the U. S. universities will help determine the factors that impact CC implemntations. The purpose of this study is to explore the transition of Saudi Arabian higher education into a CC environment from leaders’ perspectives. According to Alharthi, Wills, Alassafi, Walters, and Alzahrani (2017), the growing number of higher education institutions raises concerns about the quality of education content in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Arabian higher education system faces challenges in how it will adapt to the change in the technical environment and how it will lead educational institutions to keep up with the information-driven trend. What is the response of higher education leaders toward CC? The definition of CC in Saudi Arabia is the same as in the United States. CC supports flexibility, mobility, and scalability in education settings. Most schools are a testament that CC adoption can become a reality. The point is to understand their perspective of this transition in universities. The leaders being interviewed come from five universities from different cities and with several years of established experience in the technology sector.
