Abstract: Game-based learning seeks to capitalize on the psychological predisposition to engage in gaming, applying the same motivational mechanisms that game designers have applied in making video games, as an opportunity to make real world activities more engaging. Efforts to employ gamification strategies in the corporate environment have focused on the key target areas of motivation, recruitment, and training. Game-based learning provides a number of benefits and affordances to the corporate training environment. Game-based learning increases motivation, engagement, performance, and retention.
