Abstract: Assessing teacher candidates is an integral part of the educational process in a teacher education or credentialing program. In order to stay current with technology in the twenty-first century, candidates should be able to utilize web-based platforms for documenting their skills, dispositions, and content knowledge and application. e-Portfolios are a way in which students can show substantial progress of learning and provide a way to be assessed by faculty in their respective programs. Literature supports the use of e-portfolios and has many benefits for documentation both during and after students complete their course work. Specific technologies will be identified and reviewed, as well as research-based practices for assessing student performance and practices.web
