Abstract: Online programs work well to reach post-traditional students on the fence as to whether they should further their education. However, all too often proposals for online programs are based on hunches, or "gut feelings", rather than specific evidence on market demand or revenue generation. While these considerations are sometimes dismissed as being further corporatization of higher education, they are important tools your Chair or Dean will need to determine if they should support your proposed program.
