Abstract: Using free and open-source game development tools designed for non-programmers, teacher education programs and other educators can easily create and deploy e-learning applications into their classroom experiences Between instructional models that use no technology in the classroom, and the time and expense of buying an outside system or learning to program, there is a middle ground for educators who are not expert coders Roundtable attendees will learn about simple, no-cost development tools originally designed for gaming such as Twine, Inform, Unity and DungeonScript to rapidly prototype e-learning solutions for use in the classroom These quick, user-friendly free and open source software applications can be developed further in their native platforms, or once their efficacy has been proved, reworked into larger, stable stand-alone programs
