Abstract: This paper will present a 3-year summer program funded by the National Science Foundation to prepare students for globalization Research studies have been conducted to find out students’ readiness to study and live in a different cultural environment and their acculturation challenges The first study was in summer 2016 The data analysis indicates that students have strong interest and curiosity to study abroad; however they are not ready to embrace cultural and environmental differences In order to improve student learning experiences, the training emphasis was adjusted to focus more on morality education for the second year The 2017 data show a great improvement on student learning quality and less acculturation issues The detailed data analysis will be shared with the audience at the presentation
