Abstract: This presentation addresses the phenomenon of underperforming on and above grade level learners in an economically disadvantaged elementary school This phenomenon is not uncommon in economically and academically struggling schools as the bulk of funding goes to providing academic and staffing support to low-achieving students leaving on and above grade level students with no enrichment or extra-curricular support This research focused on an intervention done to support and enrich those “forgotten learners” which included skills training, project based learning and technology-rich programs The presentation shares the content of this intervention, pre and post test results and recommendations for further research and program improvement
