An Exploration of Attitudes toward Robots of Pre-service Teachers’ through Robot Programming education
Abstract: As the importance of robots increases, however, in South Korea, pre-service teachers have negative attitude toward robots. In order to cope with this situation, in this study, robot programming education has been conducted for pre-service teachers and their change of attitude was observed. The pre-service teachers were divided into three groups by the education that they took: ICT, programming and robot programming education. To capture the change of their attitude toward robots NARS was conducted before and after the education and their result was examined. In pre-test, no difference was caught amongst groups; however, in post-test, each group showed difference in the attitude toward robots. Examining the pre and post-test result, no change in attitude was drawn from the group that took the ICT and programming education; nevertheless, the group that took robot programming education showed change in their attitude more positive toward robots.
