Toward Caring Teachers in E-Learning

Abstract: Care in the classroom is among the most important pedagogical techniques. Engaging in a caring pedagogy allows us the opportunity to work with students in transforming society in more just ways. We, teachers risk our jobs so that our students will understand our care of the subject and of them. I seek in this proposal to address how care informs our students, our pedagogy, our subjects, and ourselves. In a time where espousing care for students can be seriously misconstrued, how do we work with students toward a more caring pedagogy including teaching online courses?
