Abstract: This paper describes five models of co-teaching and how they can be adapted for teaching foreign language online distance education. Teaching and learning foreign language online presents a unique set of challenges for both the instructor and students. Distance foreign language programs must provide a vehicle for meaningful interactive communication and authentic language practice that includes immediate instructor feedback thru the use of audio and video telecommunications technology and computer mediated communication (CMC).
