ID: 34249
Abstract: As more and more institutions enter the e-learning world, the “Chief Information Officer” or CIO position in higher education institutions is a title that is becoming more common, and a position that is increasingly in demand. What is relatively unknown is the necessary academic preparation, professional development and previous experiences, that is, the needed career path to succeed at landing such a position. This paper investigates the research and presents information to illuminate the CIO career path.
