Abstract: The paper presents the concept of a multinational e-learning class on the net economy. The class was held in the winter term 2008/2009 and focused on collaborative learning and working processes. With the participation of three German universities and a university in both Turkey and China, the class was unique due to its situated learning processes, its international setting, its project structure and the intended learning outcomes, including the further development of professional knowledge and the improvement of key competencies like media usage, (online) communication and teamwork. Thereby, the learning experiences within the class were determined by the collaboration of students from different disciplines and locations, and by an intensive use of information and communication technology in general and of web 2.0 applications in particular. The paper closes with a short presentation and interpretation of evaluation results and thus provides a variety of reflected ideas and experiences concerning the design and coordination of multisite and international e-learning classes.
