Abstract: This paper is a report on the findings of a study conducted on three bachelor degree programmes taught in non-conventional basis: the On-line bachelor degree in Education, the On-line bachelor degree in Technologies and Information, and the On-line bachelor degree in Biblioteconomy; in the System of Virtual Campus from the University of Guadalajara. Drop-out could result equal to ‘non-completion’ in appearance, according to the American slang and in comparison to British slang; is also a social phenomenon and a high statistical problem in Latin-America and it involves other concepts such as scholastic absorption, terminal efficiency, and social exclusion. The drop-out index is obtained by dividing the number of drop-outs over the total of alumni who enrolled at the beginning of the same scholastic term.
