Environmental and Conceptual Landscapes Enhancing Informal Adult Learning in Second Life
Research/Technical Showcase
ID: 23705
Abstract: This poster presentation portrays the environmental and conceptual landscapes associated with a particular place within Second Life. This space is known as the Cedar Island community. According to Harrison and Dourish (1996), a place is generally a space with something added; social meaning, expectations and standards, cultural understanding about role, function and nature, etc. Through text and graphic representation, as well as live visit to the community, participants will get a sense of the physical, human and conceptual interactions at work on Cedar Island.
