Abstract: In 2006, Kanazawa University(KU) adopted a policy that made it mandatory for all freshmen to have a laptop PC and started a new class called Introduction to Information Technology as a compulsory subject to all freshmen. This class is designed as the first step in developing an e-Learning environment across all departments. We decided to develop the class mainly as blended e-Learning which combines both the conventional face-to-face class lecture and the e-Learning.
